Goodbye to Microsoft Teams Live Events and welcome to Town Hall

On September 28, Microsoft announced that Microsoft Teams Live Events is being retired and replaced with Town Hall. Town Hall is rolling out and will be available starting October 5th.

Those of you who use Teams Live Events today do not need to worry about your current plans and events. Teams Live Events will continue to be supported for 12 months until September 30, 2024 when it retires with a well-deserved retirement.

What you should do now is familiarize yourself with how Town Hall works and which functions come with your regular license as well as which functions may require Teams Premium. An example that can be mentioned is that there is support for 10,000 participants as a starting point, but if you need even more, then Teams Premium is needed, which then supports up to 20,000 participants.

One nice feature that I like in Town Hall is the structured Q&A where questions and answers are nicely threaded.
